Gift Shop Asst / 24 Hours per Week / Rotating Shifts – Detroit

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Maintain operation of the Gift Shop in the Manager’s absence and provide additional support as outlined below. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Print daily credit card and payroll deduction transactions Assist in the deposit of cash from daily sales Maintain adequate supplies for the shop including: register tape, paper bags, tissue and other supplies needed for daily operation Re-stock merchandise as necessary in the selling areas Receive delivery of merchandise to the storage room from the dock Verify and reconcile merchandise received with the vendor-packing list Unpack merchandise and record the UPC on the packing list Enter merchandise in the gift shop system to update inventory and create price tags Record and report any damaged merchandise to the manufacturer in the appropriate time frame Maintain files for merchandise shipments Prepare and submit invoices for payment Perform other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School education or equivalent.

Need ability to lift boxes (up to 40 pounds) and push loaded carts to move merchandise from storage area to sales area.
