Link Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Network Senior SME (Subject Matter Expert) to join our team in Sierra Vista, AZ.

The Network Senior SME will provide information technology services and support for the US Army Regional Cyber Center program responsible for operating, managing, and defending the Army’s NIPRNet and Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) CONUS portion of the GIG, and the NIPRNet and SIPRNet DoDIN-A.

The candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our clients network infrastructure. This role demands deep technical expertise and the capability to lead network-related projects and initiatives. As the Senior Network SME, the candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our government IT systems.

Job Responsibilities:

Support the design and architecture of the network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless networks, and data center networks.

Develop and implement scalable network solutions that meet current and future needs.

Support the design of network security architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).

Support the installation, configuration, and management of network hardware and software, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.

Ensure proper configuration of network protocols, such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS, to optimize network performance and reliability.

Support implementation and management of network redundancy, failover mechanisms, and disaster recovery solutions to ensure high availability.

Support implementation and management of network security measures, including access control lists (ACLs), encryption, and intrusion detection/prevention.

Ensure the network complies with relevant security standards and regulatory requirements.

Support regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and remediate network security risks.

Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex network issues, including connectivity problems, performance bottlenecks, and security incidents.

Act as an escalation point for network-related issues and collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional problems.

Manage network monitoring tools and systems to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact operations and support regular network performance reviews and capacity planning.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of the network infrastructure, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

Develop and deliver training and mentorship to junior network engineers and other IT staff on network-related topics.

Remain current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to networking.

Participate in network-related projects, such as upgrades, migrations, and new implementations collaborating with other IT teams, including security, applications, and cloud services, to ensure seamless integration and operation of network services.

Support the implementation of network automation solutions.

Contribute to the strategic planning of the network infrastructure, including the development of roadmaps for future upgrades, expansions, or cloud integration.

Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies, tools, and approaches to improve the networks performance, security, and scalability.

Support network-related disaster recovery planning and execution.

Drive innovation in network design, management, and security.

US Citizenship 

Must have DoD Secret Clearance

BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science.

Twelve (12) years of directly related experience.

Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate.

IAT Level III Certification required (CompTIA CASP, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, equivalent or higher). 

Additional Certification Required: (most have one of the following)

CCNA: CISCO Certified Network Associate

CCSP: Certified Cloud Security Professional

GCED: GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender

GCIA: GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst

GCIH: GIAC Certifed Incident Handler

GCLD: GIAC Cloud Security Essentials

GDSA: GIAC Defensible Security Architect

GFACT: GIAC Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies

Preferred:

MA/MS with twelve (12) years of experience.

Demonstrated understanding of U.S. Army IT operational and technical requirements.

Experience leading a large, technically complex organization.

Demonstrated success and experience managing contractors in a DoD environment, working with Military and civilian leadership, while obtaining mission success and program profitability.

This opportunity is contingent upon successful award and contract negotiation which is currently in process.
