Job Title: Lead Animal Husbandry Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a Lead Animal Care Technician to ensure the health and well-being of various research animals. As a Lead Technician, you will perform daily animal health checks, including feeding and watering according to established guidelines. Responsibilities include conducting daily animal care activities in line with Standard Operating Procedures and Performance Standards, caring for animals by performing daily health assessments, maintaining accurate daily records of animal census, room, and equipment logs, cleaning and disinfecting animal housing and procedural areas, handling and managing various animal species safely, disposing of animal remains following safety protocols, preparing and documenting data for incoming animal shipments, collaborating with military, government, and contract staff on animal care issues, engaging in weekly technical training sessions, operating cage washing equipment, supporting Veterinary Technicians in administering treatments, managing inventory supplies, adhering to QA/QC program standards, and aiding in the training of junior staff.
