Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Technician Support Work Category at the Entry/Developmental Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA .PERIMETER DEFENSE PMO. Responsibilities Works on continuing assignments/projects that require application of standard well-established principles, concepts, and techniques of the occupation. Review contract proposals for change which consist of objectives, scope, and users expectations, and address problems requiring significant departure from established practice. Responsible for the cybersecurity of a program, organization, system, or enclave as an Information Systems Security Manager. Providing technical advice to users, examining and evaluating alternative means of satisfying user requirements, and suggesting technically feasible approaches and making recommendations. Preparation of reports and assisting management officials in the evaluation of fiscal requirements for validity and sufficiency. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Qualifying Experience: GG-07 To qualify at the GG-07, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: (1) Appling IT principles, concepts, methods, and practices in assigned specialty area. or (2) Establishing metrics to measure and evaluate systems performance and total cost of ownership from the enterprise program perspective. or (3) Analyzing fundamental changes to configurations, standards, technology, problem trends, and support patterns within analyses of business needs and practices to develop business cases for new or modified systems or applications. OR Successfully completed a Bachelors degree with Superior Academic Achievement OR One (1) year of graduate education that may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement when education is directly related to the position being filled. OR Have a percentage of the education and experience which when combined totals 100% of the necessary education and experience to qualify for this position. GG-09 To qualify at the GG-09, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as (1) Appling IT principles, concepts, methods, and practices in assigned specialty area. or (2) Experience in information technology {IT) acquisition/procurement. (3) Developing policy, plans, and strategy in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and standards in support of organizational cyber activities. OR I have successfully completed a Masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. that may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. To be creditable, education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university. (You MUST submit transcripts or proof of education to verify your claim.) GG-11 To qualify at the GG-11, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: (1) Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system AND (2) Experience in information technology (IT) acquisition/procurement. OR I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. that may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.
