Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 704th Military Intelligence Brigade Office Of The Commander, Fort Meade, MD 20755. Responsibilities Provides Signature Reduction (SR) support to the Military Intelligence Brigade. Understands the commander’s intent, the unit’s mission and capabilities. Provides SR operational support and serves as the organization’s subject matter expert for SR matters, to include planning, coordination, training, implementation, and management. Participates in SR community events to keep abreast of latest initiatives, methods and policies. Works closely with the units Operations (S-3) sections during the Planning and Directing and Evaluation phases of the intelligence cycle. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience in at least two of the following areas: Developing and/or applying Signature Reduction (SR) concepts to support intelligence operations; Apply risk management principles to execute operations security program; Prepare and submit reports regarding Signature Reduction (SR) operational activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS- 12). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
