We have an associate community services committee that plans and executes six to eight community outreach projects per year. Some of the projects we have participated in during the past year include: Save the Dunes, RC&D Emergency Home Repair Project, Backpack donations for a local elementary school, Winter Coat Donations for a local school, Dress for Success, DE Mud Run, Sunday Breakfast Mission, Special Olympics and Cancer Walk. Our associates bring ideas to the committee, which in turn determines if the company can get involved at the time. If decided that we can, the committee develops a marketing and execution strategy for success of the initiative. Each year the community outreach initiatives change so that we can get support a variety of different nonprofit organizations and learn more about how we can make a difference in our community as an organization.

Job Description

Responsible for assisting HVAC Field Technicians in the installation and repair of environmental control systems, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting, and structural layouts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assists in servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Uses a variety of hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to mount, assemble, troubleshoot and repair units.

Uses power tools and computers.

Identifies, analyzes, and repairs equipment, instruments and products at a customers location.

Performs preventive maintenance, site surveys, installations, and modifications as needed or requested by customers, HVAC Field Technicians, or Field Technician Supervisors.

Maintains stock of inventory, company equipment, and documents all service-related activities (including report writing).

Determines parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need.

Performs vehicle maintenance, as necessary.

Delivers parts to job sites, as necessary.

Regular travel requirements with occasional overnight travel.

Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

EPA approved Universal Technician Certification

This position requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms and possible extreme weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock (high voltage); and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Seiberlich Trane encourages long range planning with its associates and provides a 401k plan to save for retirement. The Company will contribute five percent of the associate’s compensation for the year for all eligible associates.

Paid Leave

Our associates earn Paid Time Off that can be used for rest and relaxation, sick time that can be used for themselves or a family member. They can use it to attend a doctors appointment, a school conference, or to watch their child in a play or sporting event. There are ten paid holidays per year. Paid leave is also provided for jury/witness duty in addition to ensuring that our associates have the time they need for bereavement.
