Assistant Cook


Job Purpose:To assist in daily food preparation, meal service, meal delivery, storage, and cleaning for all inns as directed by the Executive Director and the Director of Dietary Services.

– Prepare and serve food/meals in accordance with planned menus, diets, portion control procedures, and facility policies in a sanitary manner for all inns as directed by the chef.
– Suggest menu of recipe changes to utilize leftovers and over supply,
– Ensure that food is nutritious, appetizing, and prepared as planned and served in a timely, pleasant manner.
– Ensure that the work areas and equipment are clean, safe and orderly.
– Maintain strict adherence to procedures when handling hazardous materials.
– Ensure that food and supplies are available for the next meals, assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies, and report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accident and incidents.
– Understand, comply, and promote all rules regarding Resident Rights.
– Attend mandatory in-services.
– Other duties as assigned.
