Role Overview:

The Solutions Engineering Managers are Trellixs most accomplished business partners and are involved in worldwide, multi-year projects across vast IT networks with 100s, if not 1,000s, of sites and innumerable end points and employs expertise as a subject matter expert for all assigned areas

SE Managers are Trellix’s innovators and ultimate technical solutions providers within the Global Sales Engineering organization. They demonstrate a deep knowledge in one or more technical areas and domains.

SE Managers will lead research on Trellix’s current and prospective technology as well as those of our competitors in the areas of cybersecurity, network design, and forensics, mitigation strategies, and will share this accumulated knowledge throughout Trellix and use it to influence Trellix’s technical future. Successful SE Managers act as a Trellix spokesperson on standards bodies, industry working groups and at appropriate technical conferences and contribute articles, research and white papers to these groups and other technical media outlets.

SE Managers are selectively utilized in Trellix’s “must-win” opportunities to provide an expert perspective and articulate the benefits of a Trellix solution and must be capable of speaking to and convincing C-level executives about the benefits of Trellix’s technology and how it can be used to enable the fulfillment of a customer’s business goals and overcome business challenges. This role collaborates with Partners, Solution Integrators and Providers, as well as internal resources. The SE Managers will often be relied upon to assist the Product Engineering team with technical, support and integration issues across our entire suite of products. SE Managers may also be a part of technical patent work or have worked to develop patented technology for Trellix.

Additionally, activities will include customer meetings, product development/management/marketing review, and sales integration lab work (internally and externally) and the SE Managers will be a recognized evangelist for our strategic vision and technical. SE Managers are responsible for helping sales teams across the globe through the critical phases and difficult technical situations with our customer engagements to ensure their success and will be involved customer or partner specific certification processes. The primary focus of this role is to solve the business problems faced by our customers and to offer a solution hinged on the Trellix product portfolio. SE Managers are Trellixs most impactful and capable technical sales resources and are involved in worldwide, multi-year projects across vast IT networks with 1,000s, of sites and innumerable end points. SE Managers are appointed to this position through a review board and there should be no more than 2% of the Global Sales Engineering organization in this role at any time.

The successful individual in this role will:

Act as a thought leader for the LTAM territory staying up to date on the security landscape, competition, products, and industry

Be an expert with respect to the competition and clearly articulate the benefits and differentiators of Trellix products and platforms

Receive assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals

Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current company trends

Must be capable of speaking to and convincing C-level executives about the benefits of Trellix’s technology and how it can be used to enable the fulfillment of a customer’s business goals and overcome business challenges

The SE Manager will often be relied upon to assist the Product Engineering team with technical, support and integration issues across our entire suite of products

Build strong business consulting relationships within assigned accounts and ensure alignment of internal resources i.e. Support, Sales Engineering, and Professional Services, to ensure consistency in the planning and implementation of high value solutions.

Requirements

10 years’ experience in a technical pre-sales role on a global level

Ability to successfully complete solo sales meetings and presentations, with little or no supervision at the highest level of an organization

Ability to successfully complete solo sales meetings and presentations, with little or no supervision

Have expert level troubleshooting and problem determination skills

Ability to clearly articulate issues and concerns to management and support

Excellent business writing and presentation skills

Instinctive understanding of customer service and satisfaction, with ability to manage both

Relevant vendor certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Netapp, VMWare) preferred

Resides in the targeted geography w/local relationships w/both customers and key local resellers
