[Position Summary:
Perform mechanical, electrical repairs and preventive maintenance on company equipment, vehicles and tools. Provide maintenance on all hydraulic equipment. Perform other duties as required.

[Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

Fleet Maintenance
[Provide electrical, mechanical and hydraulic repairs on company equipment, electrical apparatus, and vehicles. Perform preventive maintenance on company equipment and vehicles, cleaning, and painting as required. Assist in the construction/fabricating of special equipment required by the Cooperative.

[Perform periodic and annual inspection of vehicles and equipment for safe and proper operating condition in conformance with state and federal regulations. Must be able to obtain a TXDOT vehicle inspector license within the first twelve months of employment. Inspect and maintain test and shop equipment in proper working condition.

[Record Keeping andv Inventory Management
[Keep a record of work done on vehicles and equipment along with other reports pertinent to the job. Support maintenance of account records of credit card purchases and receipts to be turned in on a monthly basis. Assist in counting and maintaining inventory.

Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent Certificate. Minimum of 3 years general automotive and truck maintenance and repair, prefer proficiency in wire, electric arc and acetylene welding; routine “tune-up” of internal combustion engines; repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment. Must obtain a Class A commercial drivers license with a tanker endorsement and no restrictions within the first 9 months of employment .

Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Requires working inside in a controlled environment and occasionally outside in varying weather conditions. Requires working at night, inside or outside, in all weather conditions. Requires working with or near hazardous chemical materials, fumes, dust or smoke. Requires lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying weight equal to 50 pounds or more. Requires climbing ladders and stairs, working on elevated platforms or scaffolding and working from a bucket truck. Requires kneeling, crawling, bending, twisting while lifting arms above shoulders, and stooping for extended periods of time, in order to accomplish duties while grasping, pulling or pushing objects or manipulating tools. Requires walking and/or standing for extended periods of time. Requires wearing personal safety equipment including breathing apparatus. Requires manual and detailed hand work using both hands. Also may require repetitive manual tasks. Requires working overtime and traveling at times with short notice. Must live within 30 miles of the Northern District Headquarters in Tolar. Must be able to obtain required drivers license. Requires hearing within normal range, hearing aids are permitted. Requires vision within normal range, corrective lens are permitted.
