EXTRA Salary Information:

If hired as bilingual, our top applicant will be required to pass an assessment of your ability to write and speak a secondary language fluently. We do not use translating software. Employees with bilingual responsibilities receive a [5%]{.underline} increase in pay.

This position helps injured workers heal and return to work by conducting targeted outreach and support for healthcare providers. In this position, you will support underserved communities with an emphasis on improving access to high quality care for workers with limited English proficiency and/or who experience cultural barriers when using the workers compensation system.

 

[Duties:]{.underline}

Some of what youll do:

– Conduct outreach with community healthcare providers.
– Establish and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships to increase access to services for underserved communities and Limited English Proficient (LEP) injured workers.
– Act as a point of contact for identified providers and health care organizations by providing consultative assistance regarding L&Is medical, access, and/or cost containment programs.
– Assess claim-specific issues and provider process support, recommend course of action and seek to ensure high quality health care delivery.
– Create and implement policies/procedures related to quality improvement, appropriate treatment, and cost containment.
– Establish processes that will make it easier for providers, provider office staff, and workers/patients to navigate L&I processes.
– Collaborate, troubleshoot, and coordinate routine check-ins between the healthcare providers and L&I to ensure services are adequate, systems are available and capture relevant data that will help L&I improve programs at other locations.

[Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

– Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in Spanish or Russian languages, to include English, to increase access to services for underserved communities and Limited English Proficient (LEP) injured workers.
– Must pass language testing at the advanced-low proficiency level.
– Six years experience with health care delivery systems (For example):
– Patient Care coordinator (manage the providers schedules and coordinate with insurance companies)
– Health unit coordinator (front desk staff — i.e. patient access representative)
– Outreach experience in health care setting
– Medical interrupter in a health care environment
– Other equivalent experience

OR

 

– A Masters degree with a major study in public health, public administration, nursing, health administration, economics, business administration, or closely allied field AND two years of supervisory or consultative experience in health services program

OR

 

One-year experience as a Medical Program Specialist 1
