This is a full-time, exempt level position.
Position Summary:
The Rail Fleet Maintenance Manager reports to the Director of Rail Fleet Maintenance. This position is responsible for the safety, repair, maintenance and compliance of ADM’s Rail Fleet. Additionally, this colleague must coordinate all repair and maintenance activities between ADM business units, plants, customers, repair shops, mobile repair units and lenders to ensure that the fleet meets the needs of ADM’s locations and customers.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage maintenance programs for rail equipment to ensure sensitivity and reliability
Develop relationships with key customers and become point of contact for rail equipment repairs
Ensure compliance with quality, cost and business needs in mind
Work with vendors to ensure timely repair and return of equipment to service, establish and maintain direct relationship with vendor locations
Ensure all government agency inspection requirements and procedures are accounted for and documented
Establish protocol for the efficient and effective upkeep of owned and leased assets throughout their entire lifecycle.
Comply with regulations related to fleet equipment including: EPA, FRA, OSHA, AAR, and DOT
Plan, organize and manage fleet operations including preventative maintenance plans, scheduled maintenance plans and standard repairs
Prioritization and management of multiple projects simultaneously, while ensuring execution and follow through under strict deadlines.
Job Requirements:
Five or more years relevant industry experience preferred.
Experience with data analytics and audit practices.
Working knowledge of Industry regulations.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong sense of leadership with the ability to impact and influence others.
Proven ability to work within a team based work environment as well and individually.
Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to lead meetings.
Some Domestic Travel may be necessary
This position requires the ability to work in a variety of conditions such as an office environment, indoors/outdoors, hot/cold weather as well as physical demands such as standing, kneeling, and sitting for prolonged periods of time, climbing stairs/ladders and the ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions.
