Navistar is looking for a Director of IT Strategy and Transformation – this is an exciting opportunity for a strategic IT leader to make a significant impact on the organizations digital transformation journey.
The Director of IT Strategy and Transformation will play a critical role in shaping the organizations IT strategy and digitalization initiatives, driving innovation, and ensuring that the organization is leveraging technology to achieve its business goals.
The position is a leadership role and is responsible for driving and overseeing the strategic alignment of IT solutions and digital initiatives across the organization. The individual will provide vision and leadership in the development and execution of the IT target solution architecture, roadmaps & transformation initiatives to support the organizations overall business goals and objectives and will orchestrate cross-functional teams, executive leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure that the enterprise IT initiatives are aligned with its strategic direction and growth.
The hybrid position will be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Lisle, Illinois.
Responsibilities
Oversee a team of solution architects to develop and execute the organizations IT solution strategies & roadmap, aligning it with the overall business goals and objectives, and ensuring that it supports the organizations digitalization efforts.
Oversee a team of lean portfolio managers and drive consistency across the portfolio management processes to develop a set of lean portfolios and budgets aligned to the priorities and objectives of the business.
Lead the change transformation initiatives for IT, identifying and implementing change management plans and the execution of internal initiatives to drive change within the organization.
Provide strategic guidance and leadership across IT teams, overseeing the development and implementation of IT policies, roadmaps, and best practices, and ensuring that IT deliverables are consistent across functions and business areas.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in IT strategy and digitalization, and provide recommendations to executive leadership on leveraging them to gain a competitive advantage.
Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure that the team is aligned with the organizations strategic objectives and delivering high-quality results.
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and budgets related to IT and digitalization initiatives, ensuring that the organizations investments in IT are optimized and aligned with strategic objectives.
Oversee the department’s financial planning and management processes.
Represent IT in the enterprise business transformation office
Develop and deliver executive-level presentations, reports, and communications to update leadership on the progress of IT and digitalization initiatives, including risks, challenges, and opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree
At least 14 years of information technology experience
6 years management experience,
OR
Masters degree
At least 12 years of information technology experience
6 years management experience
Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
Masters degree or MBA preferred.
Experience in IT and technology leadership roles, preferably in a large organization with a global footprint.
Strong understanding of IT solution architectures, roadmaps and emerging technologies.
Proven track record of successfully leading initiatives that drive business results, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experience.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams, and foster a collaborative and inclusive work culture.
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations, assess risks, and develop effective solutions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex IT concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with executive leadership, business units, and external partners.
Professional certifications in IT strategy, digitalization, or related fields are a plus.
