Mechanical Design Engineer

Description:

– Interpret PIDs to be used as a basis for design

– Develop high-quality, cost-effective system designs

– Lead formal design reviews and accurately present design concepts

– Effectively communicate designs ideas to customer

– Incorporate customer comments into design

– Request additional information when design scope is unclear

– Efficiently develop detailed shop drawings for fabrication

– Communicate special design requirements to fabrication staff

– Provide technical support to fabrication staff throughout duration of projects

– Obtain quotations and issue purchase orders for outsourced parts and miscellaneous material

– Simultaneously manage design of multiple projects in various stages of completion

– Ensure drawing package meets VDR criteria

– Manage drawing revision control

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Preferred candidate will have 3-5 years of equipment design coming from preferably the food/beverage/biopharma industry
