Description:

In this role, the Manager, RN-Interventional Radiology is responsible for management of Interventional Radiology imaging activities, which includes management of daily operations; process or program design, improvement, implementation and maintenance; financial and human resource management and quality assessment and improvement. Continually evaluates progress toward objectives and maintains efficient and effective day-to-day operations.

Position Responsibilities

Provides meaningful input to directors, vice presidents and executive leadership engaged in strategic planning activities. Analyzes environmental issues as well as quality and financial data in order to assist in developing systematic plans for achievement of organizational and department goals. Adapts goals and plans to provide response to the environment and successfully meet challenging, but achievable goals.

In collaboration with clinical leadership, assists in establishing standards and strategic initiatives for quality radiologic patient care which focus on a goal of positive patient outcomes. Routinely measures and monitors the well-being of assigned patient population; creates and manages processes which contribute to continual performance improvement. Actively supports and promotes the Lean journey within areas of responsibility. Ensures that assigned units meet or exceed regulatory requirements established by The Joint Commission (TJC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other licensing/accrediting agencies.

Ensures adequate equipment and personnel resources are available to allow scheduling of services and procedures. Keeps abreast of technological and medical changes which affect patient care, and is responsible for maintaining environmental safety.

Assists in the development of annual budget to ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support operations and meet departmental goals. Manages operational budget including revenue, expenses, staff levels and capital equipment sufficient to meet current and projected patient volume or service requirements.

Assists with implementation and maintains systems and functions to achieve organizational objectives and maximize efficiency of departmental operations. Recruits, interviews and selects staff in collaboration with Human Resources and ensures that staffing guidelines/standards are maintained. Maintains appropriate measurements of quality and productivity to evaluate systems and staffing. Assists with development and implementation of policies and management/operational structures to ensure continuous quality care, patient access, customer service excellence and enhanced profitability.

Demonstrate improvement in the quality and safety of patient care through an interdisciplinary unit based committee/mechanism, which monitors the effectiveness/appropriateness and outcomes of patient care.

Position Requirements

Minimum Required:

Bachelors Degree RN OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education

3-5 years of previous job-related experience

Managerial Experience: 3-5 years

Specify Degree(s): Radiology or related field

Preferred:

Masters Degree

6-10 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications

Required:

Current Registered Nurse License State of Illinois

ACLS (Advanced Cardio Life Support Certified)

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association

Preferred :

American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)

Computer Assisted Tomography (CT Technologist)

Illinois Emergency Management Agency Certification (IEMA)

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
