Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a sharp Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Generalist to join a large, Chicago-based healthcare provider to provide maintenance service across an Illinois geographic territory. In this role, the Maintenance Technician will serve as a generalist, providing as-needed and preventative maintenance to the hospital systems 22 buildings between the McHenry and Algonquin area. The Maintenance professional will use a company-provided car and gas funding to travel between these locations, so it is imperative that this individual is comfortable with a field technician structure of role. The types of maintenance that will be provided range widely- this person will do things like fixture changes, replacing various plumbing parts (like replacing a handle on a sink), cleaning plumbing clogs, and providing basic electric support. The most successful candidate will have a background in handywork and general maintenance with a background in trade, ideally coming from a trade school. The hours for this role are Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm.
This role requires on-call work, where the Technician will periodically be on call for weekends and after hours- this will not happen until the individual is completely ramped up and comfortable with all the buildings. Please note that there is an on-call rotation that typically requires one week on call with a 3-4 week break in between.
Skills and Requirements
– Valid drivers license
– Ability to pass a 10-panel drug test
– Willingness to work a standard 40-hour work week with periodic on-call rotations (starting after ramp-up period is complete)
– Comfortable working in a field, local travel-based environment
– Strong understanding of basic building systems and ability to provide reactive and preventative maintenance to electric and plumbing systems
– Completion of required safety training (OSHA-certified is ideal) – Past hospital/healthcare provider building maintenance experience
