The Sourcing Analyst for Strategic Sourcing will manage sourcing initiatives related to ITW’s Global Chemicals Spend. Strong technical and analytical skills will be required to identify opportunities and needs across ITW’s seven business segments. This position will contribute in the creation of sourcing strategies for critical cross-segment spend and defining actionable steps that provides value to the enterprise.

The analyst will conduct broad market research and engage the supply chain ranging from world-class manufacturers to channel partners on a range of chemical commodities and derivatives. The analyst will assess market price drivers and trends for each product category to support business sourcing priorities. Other responsibilities include Risk Mitigation Assessments, Cost Modeling, Contract Negotiation, Sustainability and Diversity efforts. Knowledge in one or more of the following chemical categories will benefit the performance of the individual in this role:

Solvents & Oil – aliphatic, aromatic, oxygenated, base oil

CASE resins – epoxies, silicones, acrylates, polyurethanes, and polyester

Additives – surfactants, fuel/lubricant additives, inorganic fillers

Colorant – pigment, dye, ink, dispersion, and master batch

Project Execution & Strategy Implementation

Chemical category and market assessment

Accurate Category Taxonomies

Manage Request for Quote (RFQ)/ competitive bidding process

Contract Negotiation

Market Trend and Pricing Analysis

Bachelors degree in Science and/or Engineering, specifically Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science & Engineering, Polymer Science.

1 years of relevant work experience (internships count).

Willingness to travel 20%

Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

Business Acumen/Leadership & Communication Skills

Ability to support/manage projects across business units

Technical Inclination & Intellectual Curiosity

Ability to develop basic understanding of assigned commodities, including but not limited to: current market conditions, key cost drivers, global supply base, and industry terminology, as it relates to creating competitive purchasing programs for ITW companies

Demonstrated experience in analysis, and problem solving (showing expertise in data analysis and management using MS Excel, PowerBI, etc).
