Under the general supervision of the Director, the Radiology Tech Assistants responsibilities include clerical, technical, and patient care skills and competencies. They must use sound judgment and diplomacy as the first interface of Radiology Services with the patients and unit personnel. They will work between the departments of Radiology Services to assist those departments in the timely delivery of service. They will interface daily with physicians, nursing staff, and technologists to insure quality services and continuum of care. Assists X-Ray Technologist at a technical and professional level. The Radiology Technologist Assistant must assume responsibility, exercising judgement, initiative, and ingenuity in ensuring quality care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High school graduate or equivalent
2. Currently enrolled in a Radiology Tech Educational Program

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1.Some college and/or knowledge of medical terminology and the computer.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Certified Nursing Assistant or patient care experience.
2. One year experience in patient care.

1. Receives patients into the area.Assists the technologists with patient care functions. Practices Standard Precautions.Maintains current CPR certification.Maintains supplies for the departments.
2. Assist in the daily requirements of scanning forms, printing forms, calling/Faxing reports, print schedules, PACS required duties, conduct pre-exam calls.
3. Demonstrates good organizational and time management skills to effectively balance patient treatment needs, documentation, and educational requirements.Manages time effectively to maximize the volume of patients.
4. Follows hospital, state and federal guidelines for ensuring safe environment for workers, patients and public.Maintains and monitors staff compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures for safety, security, and infection control.Including privacy, patient confidentiality and HIPAA.
5. Ensures the facilities and equipment for patient services are maintained to promote comfort, efficiency and safety for patients and staff.Documents and reports malfunctioning equipment immediately to appropriate management staff.
