Job Summary: The primary function of the Escrow Insurance Clerk is to input new escrow accounts into the system and ensure all invoices are paid on a timely basis. In addition, another main function of this position is to monitor loans for forced placed insurance and work with the third-party company that monitors the insurance on all mortgage loans. This position provides support to the Loans Department and is responsible for a variety of duties and functions which serve to ensure successful loan processes, services and compliance. This position will comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the USA PATRIOT ACT (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), including reporting suspicious activities to the BSA Department as well as other banking and company regulations and rules.

Responsibilities:

– Responsible for setting up new escrow accounts on the system, monitoring the escrow accounts and making sure all invoices get paid on time;
– Work closely with the third-party company(ies) the bank uses to monitor insurance on mortgage loans, including forced placed insurance;
– Responsible to ensure third-party insurance company(ies) accurately track homeowner and flood insurances on all incoming mortgage loans;
– Set up new and maintain existing escrow accounts, process invoices;
– Review each private flood insurance policy at the time the policy renews to make sure it follows regulatory guidelines;
– Manually monitor loans that are over the VSI threshold in order to make certain these loans have sufficient insurance coverage;
– Responsible for processing loan advances;
– Scan and index loan documents to core system;
– Book mortgage and consumer loans, which includes the imaging, indexing and review loan documentation into the document imaging system;
– Updating procedures for processing escrow account transactions;
– Support the Loans Department activities, researching, analyzing and organizing information for loans, following up to ensure thorough and accurate completion;
– Maintain current files and informational materials;
– Provide administrative support to the Loan Operations Supervisor and department to complete various files as needed;
– Support communications between loan officers, (branches, main office location) and customers relating to administrative, customer service and loan support activities, ensuring that important information is obtained and exchanged as needed;
– Prepare mortgage files, reviewing the Mortgage Application Checklists and ensuring accurate and through preparation;
– Provide file organization as needed for various documents;
– Maintain current knowledge of loan types and compliance requirements as well as interest rates, terms; etc.; Maintain current knowledge for thorough and compliant loan files;
– Answer customer questions and make necessary corrections to the customers files.
– Support walk in customers of the bank with special requests. For example, customers may request notarized documents;
– Provide payoff quotes/satisfactions accurately and timely as requested;
– Process draws on lines of credit;
– Serve as back up when needed for the receptionist in their absence, which includes monitoring the reception desk, distributing daily reports and processing payment books;
– As part of the overall team of bank employees, this position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities;

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalency
