JOB SUMMARY
The registered nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total care of patients as delegated.

Minimum Education
Graduation from a school of nursing as a registered nurse required.

Required Licenses
Current RN license required (in VA or compact state).
One year of clinical nursing experience in critical care or medical/surgical preferred
BLS required within 30 days of hire
STABLE required within one year of hire
ACLS preferred
PALS preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Function as a staff or charge nurse and performs functions of a registered nurse – uses the nursing process to access, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients.
Supervise and coordinate care in a manner to ensure that patient needs are provided in an efficient manner and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Ability to problem-solve effectively and apply critical-thinking skills to provide quality patient care and improve patient outcomes.
Provide excellent customer service including patient education.
