
Nursing Education Enrollment Specialist
Greater Baltimore Medical Center
Under general supervision, develops clinical expertise and offers educational programs directed at expanding and enhancing nursing and ancillary staff knowledge and clinical practice. Collaborates with clinical managers, clinical specialists, and clinical leadership to plan, implement, and evaluate programs to meet identified needs of the organization. Serves as organizational resource to ensure evidenced-based practice and facilitate optimal patient outcomes within GBMC healthcare system. Responsible for full life cycle recruiting; recruit, screen and recommended placement of staff by using creative sourcing methods (internal and external). Additionally, this position will help determine the best staffing model for the organization in collaboration with the Nursing and Finance departments.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required with a commitment to obtain a master’s degree in 5 years
Experience
At least five (5) years’ experience in Nursing with two (2) years concurrent experience applying educational concepts, including program planning and evaluation.
Skills
Knowledge of nursing and adult educational theories to assess, plan, implement and evaluate quality educational programs
Analytic skills necessary to develop and evaluate educational programs and assess learning needs of staff.
Communication skills necessary to clearly explain the role to candidates and walk them through the interview and hiring process.
Develops and maintains an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals.
Licensures, Certifications
Must possess current Maryland State license as a Registered Nurse.
Certification as C.P.R. instructor by American Heart Association preferred
Completion of “Healthcare Provider” CPR course, every (2) years
Obtain certification as a professional development specialist within 4 years of hire
Physical Requirements
Able to perform the physical requirements of the position, which may include activities related to patient care.
Working Conditions
Works alternatively in classroom, office or patient care areas with little exposure to excessive noise, dust or temperature.
