THE OPPORTUNITY

Due to continued growth, a unique opportunity exists for a Mechanical Process Engineer to join our team in Marlborough, MA. This role is on a 9/80 work week schedule, with every other Friday off.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a critical team member supporting the manufacturing team, you will establish and optimize manufacturing processes, as well as quality for the production and assembly of our precision optical products. This is a hands-on role that creates engineering solutions for manufacturing coated optical products and works directly with the manufacturing team consisting of operators, technicians, and supply chain personnel.

YOU WILL BE EVALUATED ON YOUR ABILITY TO

Foster constructive and collaborative relationships with partners and suppliers while working closely with customers and Quality staff to ensure successful delivery.

Use CAD and other engineering software to develop fixturing and processes.

Investigate and learn new equipment and methods required for new product introduction and efficiency.

Develop workflows and work instructions for automated and manual assembly and manufacturing of precision optics.

Contribute to the design and construction of testing equipment and methodologies and implement quality test plans.

Assists in developing tooling and fixtures for use in manufacturing.

Implements LEAN applications throughout the manufacturing process.

Develop a strong knowledge of standards and specifications which relate to Focused Solution capabilities and products.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics or other relevant discipline and meaningful experience working with automated processes in High Tech manufacturing, Optics experience a plus.

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a highly dynamic environment.

A positive can-do, customer-oriented attitude with critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

SolidWorks experience, exposure and comfort with ERP systems and PLC Logic Understanding.

You will work closely with accomplished mentor and coach with more than 10 years Optics industry experience, and a team of passionate and driven individuals who are making a difference for our modern-day warfighters.
