A Day in the Life

The Technical Services Specialist provides consultation to physicians, health care professionals, Medtronic field personnel, Legal Department, Marketing, Education, Research and Development (R&D), Quality Assurance (QA), and other in-house areas on 1) technical aspects of Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management (CRHF) products and applications (implantable external, web based, and tablet based), 2) related device therapy concepts, medical and physiological problems, 3) device diagnostics, and 4) EGM/EKG and/or x-ray diagnostic interpretation.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Provide direct phone consultation (100%) on Cardiac Rhythm Heart Failure products (implantable and external) that is accurate, thorough, timely, and tailored to the customer’s needs. This service is provided 7 days a week/24 hours a day, which is shared among other consultants.

Document and report all customer issues and product problems in the technical database.

Maintain high level CRHF product knowledge and related device therapy systems through continuous training and educational programs (e.g. seminars, self-study programs, workshops, literature review).

Maintain communication networks across business units, and other related business operations, key legal and regulatory functions.

Utilize technology and systems required to support job function (e.g. PC computer systems, iPad and Android tablets, MS Office/Outlook, cell phones, pagers, phone systems, etc.).

Expand related device therapy and diagnostic concept knowledge and device systems through continuous self-study and educational programs and training workshops.

Using Medtronic and industry publications research issues and remain current on new products and systems, new techniques, and new indications for devices.

Maintain an active participant role on department teams.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree required

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree in lieu of experience

Nice to Have

4 years experience in Cardiac Rhythm Heart Failure field in a position(s) dealing with customers and the clinical use of the product

5 years of clinical, field, or industry experience

2 years experience with device regulations (e.g. – FDA/GMP/MDR)

CRHF implant/follow-up experience or equivalent

1 year in a regulated industry (e.g. – FDA/GMP/MDR)

CRHF implant/follow-up observation

Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
