The Business Development Manager will play a key leadership role in driving above market growth for one of the segments within the Industrial Equipment Division. The aim is to create and implement growth strategies for the short and long term. You will lead a team comprising product managers, segment marketing managers, and application specialists, while working cooperatively with various business units and functions.

What You’ll Do and Impact

Provide leadership through targeted selling, core market expansion and customer back innovation of top priority end-market opportunities.

Express the goals and direction of the organization or division clearly to the team.

Work collaboratively across functions, regions (Domestic & International) and divisions/departments.

Partner with the distribution marketing manager, in developing business opportunities to drive business models, partnerships, resource investments and alignment.

Develop deep understanding for all aspects of the market.

Perform and direct research to gain understanding to build business plans, profit margin analysis, and business risk assessments that lead to sustainable profitable growth results.

Identify, monitor, and research market conditions and trends for new business opportunities. Develop and execute action plans based on the findings/learnings to drive organic growth.

Recognize and cultivate the potential of individuals to establish a robust and diverse team.

Create a strategic vision and implement that vision through a combination of short-term and long-term strategies and tactics.

This position is located in Appleton, WI; 30% travel will be required.

Bachelor’s degree with major course work in business, marketing, or related field. MBA preferred.

Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in business development, marketing, and/or Sales leadership.

Minimum 2 – 3 years of people leadership experience.

Proficient in MS Office products with emphasis in Excel and Word.

Ability to present findings and recommendations succinctly and accurately through oral and written communications.

Ability to apply qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret data.

Ability to perform research studies from start to finish.

Familiar with statistical analysis.

Highly motivated with the ability to solve problems operating under minimal direct supervision.

Strong organization and time management skills.

Ability to prepare and effectively present a business plan.

Ability to analyze operating, capital and cash flow pro-formas and budgets
