
Assistant Professor of Agricultural

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary: The School of Agriculture is looking
for a dynamic full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor in
Agricultural Education. Teaching responsibilities may include-but are
not limited to introductory agricultural/technology education,
curriculum, methods, facilities, introductory ag engineering, student
teacher observation and other topics as assigned. Anticipated start date
is January 2024. Those with experience teaching high school with a
strong understanding of agricultural and technology education are
encouraged to apply. The starting salary for this position is $60,000,
commensurate with experience. Additional salary for student teacher and
internship supervision can be discussed during the interview process.
This is a benefits and sick leave eligible position. Responsibilities:
Teaching responsibilities may include introductory
agricultural/technology education, curriculum, methods, facilities,
introductory ag engineering, and student teacher observation based on
applicants background and experience. Other responsibilities for
faculty include: Serving as academic advisor Maintaining, purchasing,
and preparing equipment for use in laboratories Developing curricula
that includes the use of laboratory equipment where relevant Engaging
students in a hands-on setting Engaging in scholarly activities;
involvement with student and related professional organizations such as-
Ag Ed Society, Scale Tractor team, Parliamentary Pro contests/workshops,
FFA Career Development Event, Wisconsin Association of Ag Educators
(WAAE) American Association for Ag Education (AAAE), outreach to
industry Undergraduate research and grants Professional development; and
service to the university and community. What Youll Need to Succeed:
Applicants must respond to all required qualifications. Required Ph.D or
Ed.D with at least one degree in agricultural education (must be
completed by Sept 1, 2023) 3 years of K-12 teaching experience with at
least one year in agricultural education. A desire to teach at the
undergraduate level. Demonstrable skills in oral and written
communication. Demonstrated ability to teach using technology in the
classroom and laboratory. Demonstrated ability to interact with external
stakeholders, enthusiasm for professional engagement with students in
and out of the classroom. Ability to work with colleagues in a collegial
