JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary: UW Platteville invites applications
for an Innovation Center Coordinator/Laboratory Manager. The Innovation
Center Coordinator directs the technical activities, operations,
planning, and policy development of a lab, including coordinating the
activities of multiple, complex projects and staff to ensure quality
control and compliance with regulations. This position will assist with
the day-to-day operations of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT)
center. This is a 2-year project appointment that is and eligible.
Salary for this position begins at $60,000 and will be commensurate
with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities: Identifies,
proposes, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and
procedures in alignment with strategic initiatives and objectives Serves
as the unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups
providing information, making recommendations to leadership, and
representing the interests of the unit Directs and supervises the
day-to-day laboratory operations, quality control programs, and/or staff
of a work unit to ensure compliance with organization and regulatory
agency standards Monitors program budgets and expenditures May exercise
supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending,
promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning,
rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0
FTE or equivalent employees Develops and facilitates trainings regarding
scientific experimentation, technical procedures, and equipment
operations to various audiences Design Automation module for GE 1030
Specifies, purchases, and maintains equipment and supplies for IIOT lab
Manages the IIOT lab and liaise with IBM support team Works with faculty
to develop hands-on experiences utilizing equipment in the labs Oversees
independent study student projects in the lab Assists professors with
design of experiments/sensing needs for their research Assists
departments with design of experiments/sensing needs for hands-on
learning experiences for students in courses Assists clients/customers
with design of experiments/sensing needs for their applications Develops
systems for cost-recovery or revenue generating activities Ensures
electrical safety and review student projects by providing support for
faculty and students in electrical wiring and safety, reviewing Senior
