
Continuous Improvement Engineer

Our client is looking to bring on another CI Engineer to their growing team in Janesville, WI. This position will be direct hire with full benefits. Salary, depending on experience is $120K.
The primary role of the CI Engineer is the development and execution of projects for positively impacting key metrics of COPQ including scrap, rework (internal and external) and customer concerns. The successful CI Engineer will lead cross functional teams to resolve systemic and product specific COPQ projects utilizing DMAIC and Lean methodologies. Maintain our clients Quality Operating System, including updates to system to ensure compliance and best practices are deployed throughout organization.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing structure problem solving approach (DMAIC, 8D, PDCA, Lean).
1. Track and analyzes defects both internal and external.
2. Develop and prioritize CI projects utilizing defects data.
3. Lead cross functional teams and to problem resolution to meet projects target
4. Track project to ensure sustainment of improvements.
2. Train/educate the work force on Quality principles through various methods.
1. Mentor green and yellow belts candidates
2. Train teams in problem solving and lean methodologies.
3. Conduct internal Quality Audits and external Supplier Audits, reporting findings and following up/ assisting on corrective actions.
4. Member of APQP team for new product launches and product/process changes, including the proper implementation of customer specific requirements.
5. Key team member in the development and maintenance of Control Plan, pFLOW, and pFMEA.
6. Accountable for gage capability, calibration, and statistical methods.
7. Assist with activities relative to customer complaints, including customer interface, immediate response actions, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions and follow-up.
8. Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program.
9. Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of DSB Technologies which includes following the policies, procedures, and requirements of our Quality Management and IS0 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
Education, Certifications, and Experience
Bachelors Degree.- Industrial Engineering preferred. Required minimum 5 years related work experience. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is required. Black Belt Six Sigma certification is required. Knowlege in Microsoft Office Products is also required.
